Located on the edge of the sparkling blue Sea of Cortez, 35 miles North of Los Cabos International airport and 70 miles Southeast of La Paz, Hotel Buena Vista Beach Resort is in the East Cape Area, one of the pioneer region in travel in Baja.

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

As of January 23rd, 2007 the only acceptable document to travel to Mexico is a passport. The airlines will provide you with the form for a Tourist Card, which you will fill out on the airplane and show when you go through customs at your entry point in Mexico. This Tourist Card is good for six months. Minors under the age of 18—who are not traveling with both parents—will need a notarized affidavit from the missing parent (s)giving permission for them to travel to Mexico. The airlines can help you with this.

AIRLINE SERVICE

The easiest way to get to Hotel Buena Vista is by air. It's only a short two-hour flight from San Diego, Los Angeles or Phoenix to Los Cabos, and the Los Cabos International Airport is only 35 miles away from us. Because it's a major resort destination, Los Cabos airport(SJD)offers the largest number of international flights. We also offer pick up from La Paz airport even though it is an hour extra drive, but it sometimes a better option, especially during Los Cabos high season. La Paz International Airport is 70 miles northwest of Buena Vista.

AIRPORT SHUTTLE SERVICE

Once you arrive at either airport, the driver of one of our three Tres Hermanos vans will personally meet you. Look for the man with the Hotel Buena Vista sign. Your name will be on it. He'll help you with your luggage and you'll be on your way. Make sure you let us know whether you'll be flying into Los Cabos or La Paz and what your flight number and arrival time is.

In case you're thirsty after your flight, let your driver know and he'll stop at a store near the airport where you can buy water, soda, beer and snacks. Forty-five minutes later (or an hour and half if you fly into La Paz), you'll be checking into the hotel!

CAR RENTALS AND DRIVING DIRECTION FROM NEAR BY AIRPORTS

You can arrange to rent a car at the Los Cabos or La Paz International Airports. All major US car rental companies have outlets at these airports, but their prices are generally better when you make advance reservations. You can also rent a car for a day or two at Hotel Buena Vista, delivery charge will apply.

Driving directions from Los Cabos Airport
Head toward Highway 1, and follow the bridge over the road and take the turn to the north, which says, "La Paz." You will drive about 45 to 50 minutes, most of it inland. When you see the Sea of Cortez on your right, you are almost here! Note the kilometer markers. Hotel Buena Vista is at Km 105, right before the tall, thin concrete monument on top of the largest hill around. You will see the sign on the right and follow it through our welcome arch to the hotel lobby.

Driving directions from La Paz Airport
When  you are driving down from La Paz, you also take Highway 1. Just as you leave the airport, about 5 miles, you will go right (left will take you away from town and toward Tijuana). You need to follow the sign that says Cabo San Lucas or San Jose del Cabo. You must not leave highway way. About 25 miles South there will be a sign to Cabo San Lucas and Todos Santos, do not turn there, that is the Pacific side highway, you must stay on the same road you are going. You will go El Triunfo, San Antonio and latter San Bartolo, after this last town you will drive about 20 more minutes and you will arrive to Los Barriles. Another five minutes and you will see the big flag poll, continue on a miles and be ready to turn left toward the ocean. Kilometer 105 is where we are. Follow the dirt road and you will see the welcome arch to our resort.
