Each season we relocate to Manasquan Inlet for the month of October. The Barnegat Bay fishing slows and the striper season doesn't really start cooking near Barnegat Inlet until November 1. Further north, however, it's a different story. The Shrewsbury Rocks are only a short ride to the north of Manasquan Inlet and these grounds hold stripers and bluefish all season long. Sometimes we don't even make it to the Rocks as there is plenty of "fish holding" real estate on the ride up, such as Asbury Park, Deal, and Long Branch. Trolling is the most productive technique but we always have the casting and jigging rods at the ready should the oppurtunity present itself.
This relocation also has offshore possibilities. The Mud Hole is only 12 to 20 miles east Of Manasquan depending on where you want to fish. If the ocean is flat and the weather is perfect we could find ourselves hunting for bluefin tuna, bonita, and albacore.
